Leadership 

Over the course of my college experience I have served as: 

Omega Chi Epsilon (Chemical Engineering Honors Society):

  • Vice President (2023-2024):

    • ​Encourage academic excellence among Chemical Engineering students  through events and host induction of new members.

 

National Society of Black Engineers: 

  • Region 1 (Northeastern US and West Africa) Secretary Elect 

  • President (2023 - 2024): ​​

    • Developed NYU NSBE Website ​

    • Developed our corporate partnership packet attached below

    • Assisted with  hosting various social and company events 

    • Served as the sole representative for NYU NSBE 

    • Re-established the Pre-Collegiate initiative program undertaking 3 high schools which we aim to serve next semester and enhance the learning experience of high school students interested in STEM. 

    • Aided with fundraising initiatives for the student conferences. 

  • Treasurer (2022- 2023): 

    • Accountable for implementing the necessary internal controls for the management of the student organisation’s finances

    • Oversaw planning and expenditure for events and conferences for 193 member

    • Organised end of Year Coporate Mixer

    • Assisted with increasing revenue over $15,000 to financially support 37 students interested in attending the National Convention at Kansas City 

  • Finance Chair (2022): ​​

    • Strategised, updated and distributed corporate sponsorship packet and NSBE Resume Book forming partnerships with Jane Street, Bank of America, HSBC and Deloitte

    • Developed activities and events to maintain relationships between corporate partners and the NYU NSBE Chapter

American Institute of Chemical Engineers: 

  • President (2023 - 2024): 

    • Strategically planned and executed professional and social events, fostering connections among 211 students, professors, and industry professionals.

    • Projected, budgeted and monitored over $10,000 in funding for events and conferences.

  • Vice President (2022-2023): 

    • Co-ordinated and facilitated events ​to connect students to professors, peers and industry. 

    • Assisted with conference planning and logistics 

    • Founders of the Chemical-E Car VIP for technical skill development as students in interdisciplinary teams construct cars powered by chemical reactions and provide technical and safety paperwork in National and Regional competitions.  

  • Underclassmen Representative (2021 - 2022): ​

    • Advertised events on social media as well as to students to increase student engagement. 

    • Event Planning 

Office of Global Services: 

  • International Student Transition Program Leader (2021): 

    • ​Mentored a cohort of 6 international students by helping them become acclimated to college through academic preparedness, college engagement and community building.

    • Facilitated open and honest conversations on topics such as micro-aggressions, equity, and equality.
